Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters were called to a burst water main at the rear of Crescent House on Bliss Crescent in Lewisham.
A car park is flooded to a depth of 60 cm covering an area of 8,000 square metres. Fire crews worked hard to contain the water and used sandbags to help protect property and prevent water entering the building. Fortunately, Crescent House wasn’t affected by flooding but access to and from the building was restricted.
The Brigade was called at 19:57 and the incident was over for the Brigade by 00:20. Fire crews from Greenwich and Lewisham fire stations were at the scene.
