Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a recycling centre on River Road in Barking.
A pile of scrap metal was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1420 and the fire was under control by 1718. Fire crews from Barking, East Ham and Plaistow fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
