Recycling fire - Canning Town

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a recycling plant on Bidder Street in Newham. 

Firefighters tackled a fire where a large area of recycling, made up of scrap household appliances, was completely alight. There were no injuries reported. 

Fire crews advised drivers to avoid the area as there were road closures in place.

The Brigade was called at 0311 and the fire was under control by 0626. Fire crews from Poplar, Plaistow, Stratford, Milwall, Shadwell and other surrounding fire stations attended the scene. 

The cause of the fire has been recorded as undetermined.
