Work with young people:

Young Londoners are the future of our community and our Brigade, and we are committed to supporting them.

Youth engagement is a top priority at London Fire Brigade, and we have a number of different programmes and initiatives to educate, inspire and build confidence. These include:

Fire safety education visits at schools

We believe the best way to keep Londoners safe is through fire safety education – and that starts at primary school. Our dedicated Education Team and firefighters are here to help your children learn about home fire safety.

Have fun, develop skills and join our Fire Cadets

Our free, nationally recognised Fire Cadets programme is a fantastic way for young people, aged 11-18, to have fun, make friends, and gain qualifications while building skills and confidence. Adults can also get involved through volunteering opportunities. Join the London Fire Brigade family today!

Juvenile Firesetters Intervention Scheme

The Juvenile Firesetters Intervention Scheme works with children and young people – up to the age of 18 – who play with fire or who have set fires. If you know a child or young person you are concerned about, or you have spotted worrying signs, talk to us. Acting now can save lives.

School visits to the London Fire Brigade Museum

Bring the Great Fire of London to life for your class with a school visit. Ideal for KS1, we run special sessions where children can get hands-on with firefighting history, and get inspired by a professional storyteller who'll spark their imaginations retelling the dramatic days that changed London forever.
