Ten fire engines and 72 firefighters and officers were called to a flat fire on Bollo Bridge Road in Acton this afternoon.
The fire damaged a split level flat on the ninth and tenth floors of the 13 storey block. Sadly crews found the body of a man on the tenth floor and he was confirmed dead at the scene by London Ambulance Service.
The Brigade was called at 1420 and the fire was under control by 1608. Crews from Acton, Willesden, Park Royal, Hammersmith, Chiswick, Heston, Northolt and Richmond fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
