Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to a flat fire on Elm Park, Brixton SW2 this afternoon.
The fire damaged part of a flat on the first floor of the three storey converted terraced house. Sadly crews found the body of a man who was confirmed dead at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 1644 and the fire was under control at 1731. Crews from Brixton, West Norwood and Clapham fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
