Firefighters were called to assist a vet after a horse collapsed in stables on Hawkwood Lane in Chislehurst on Saturday morning.
Station Manager Chris Drew who was at the scene said: “We have crews which are specially trained in large animal rescues and they helped to move the horse, safely out of the stable, after he had been sedated by the vet. When he was out in the open we got him to his feet and back out into the field. Thankfully it was a happy outcome for all concerned.”
The Brigade was called at 0951 ad the incident was over at 1107.
One fire engine from Dagenham, a fire rescue unit from Lewisham and around 10 firefighters attended the incident.
