Lightning strike is believe to be the cause of a house on Wych Elm Close in Hornchurch on Thursday, 13 August. The fire comes little under two weeks since another bolt from the sky damaged a house in Upminster.
The fire affected a house of two floors, part of the first floor and part of the loft was damaged by fire. A small part of the first floor and roof of a neighbouring property was also damaged in the blaze.
Fortunately there are no reports of any injuries.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers from Romford, Hornchurch, Dagenham and Harold Hill fire stations attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 1416 and the fire was under control at 1540.
