Four fire engines and 20 firefighters attended a fire at a block of flats on Heathland Road in Stoke Newington this afternoon.
Forty people were evacuated from the four storey block as a precaution, fortunately no-one was injured.
Part of the building’s roof was damaged by fire.
Crews from Tottenham and Stoke Newington fire stations attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 1433 and the fire was under control at 1521. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
