Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued two men from a flat fire on Lewisham Way this morning.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers tackled the blaze which damaged a second floor flat. A further woman and a boy evacuated a ground floor flat. Thankfully no one was injured.
The Brigade was called at 0838 and the fire was under control by 0942. Fire crews from New Cross, Lewisham, Dockhead and Peckham fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
