A man and a child escaped a fire from a block of flats on Peckham Rye in Peckham, yesterday evening.
The pair who escaped before the arrival of the Brigade, were both were taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
Most of a five roomed flat on the third floor was damaged by fire and a small area of a five roomed flat on the fourth floor was also damaged in the blaze.
Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters and officers from Peckham, New Cross, Greenwich and Old Kent Road fire stations attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 2028 and the fire was under control at 2223. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
