Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a storage depot on Ramac Way in Charlton this morning.
A mechanical digger and a quantity of plastic piping covering an area of twenty metres by five metres were both completely damaged by fire.
Fortunately there were no injuries.
Fire engines from Greenwich, East Greenwich, Poplar, Plumstead, Shadwell attended the incident. The Brigade was called at 0309 and the fire was brought under control at 0444. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
