Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man from a fire at a block of flats on Belgrade Road in Stoke Newington, this evening.
Crews gave the man, who was suffering from smoke inhalation first aid. Part of a four roomed flat on the first floor was damaged by fire.
Two fire engines from Stoke Newington attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 2104 and the fire was under control at 2125. The fire is believed to have been caused by cooking.
