Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers tackled a fire at a shop selling hair products and E-cigarette vapour liquids on Parsloes Avenue in Dagenham, yesterday morning.
The whole of the ground floor and part of the first floor of the building was damaged by fire. A small area of the ground and first floor of an adjacent shop was also damaged in the blaze.
Fortunately, although the shop was occupied at the time of the incident there were no injuries.
Firefighters from Ilford, Barking, Dagenham and East Ham fire stations attended the incident.
The fire is believed to have been caused by hot cutting nearby which caused a smouldering fire on a dust sheet.
The Brigade was called at 1142 and the fire was under control at 1406.
