Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued an elderly women from a flat fire on Great Western Road in Notting Hill, this evening.
The woman was led to safety via an external staircase and fortunately was uninjured.
The fire affected a five roomed flat on the first floor, part of which was damaged by fire.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers from Paddington, Kentish Town and Hammersmith fire stations attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 1937 and the fire was under control at 2019. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
