Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued a woman from a fire in a block of flats on Shelbourne Road in Tottenham during the early hours of this morning.
The fire damaged around a quarter of a flat on the second floor and crews led the woman to safety down an internal staircase. She was suffering from smoke inhalation and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service. Five other people left the property before the Brigade arrived.
The Brigade was called 0209 and the fire was under control by 0307. Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters from Tottenham and Walthamstow fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
