A woman and two children escaped uninjured from a fire at a flat on Dovehouse Mead in Barking, yesterday evening.
The fire affected a five roomed flat on the eleventh floor of the twelve floor block and part of the flat was damaged in the blaze.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers from Dagenham, Barking and East Ham fire stations attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 1816 and the fire was under control at 1923. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
