Firefighters are asking people to be careful when using drain cleaner after a man received burns after spilling the chemical in a Richmond home.
Around one litre of drain cleaner was spilt in a first floor bathroom. A man was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.
Richmond Watch Manager Neil Caswell said:
“It appears the drain cleaner was accidental spilt while the occupiers were cleaning the bathroom. We’d ask people to be extremely careful when using drain cleaners especially strong industrial strength ones.
“Crews wearing breathing apparatus diluted the chemical product and ventilated the property.”
The Brigade was called at 2019 and the incident was over at 2138. Firefighters from Richmond, Chiswick and Wembley fire stations attended the scene.
