Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire in an infants’school on Bedonwell Road in Belvedere this morning.
The fire affected a storage cupboard, open plan communal area and a small p[art of a roof void. Around 100 children and staff evacuated the building before the Brigade arrived after the fire alarm sounded. Thankfully there were no injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0850 an the incident was over by 1125.
Crews from Erith, Bexley and Plumstead fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
