Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers dealt with a fire in a bungalow on Sunnyfield Road in Chislehurst yesterday evening.
The ground floor and the roof was badly damaged by the blaze.
The occupiers, a woman and her adult son, discovered a well developed fire on the first floor. They called the Brigade and left the property. Thankfully they were both uninjured.
The Brigade was called at 1829 and the fire was under control by 2134. Fire crews from Orpington, Sidcup and Bromley fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
