Six fire engines and around 35 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a row of log cabins and a disused garage on Southend Arterial Road in Hornchurch this morning.
Part of the office and shop in the garage was damaged by the fire. The A127 Southend Arterial Rd was shut westbound towards London at Hall Lane (just after M25 J29) due to the fire.
Fire crews from Hornchurch, Harold Hill, Romford and Dagenham fire stations attended the fire as well as a fire crew from Essex fire brigade.
The Brigade was called at 2353 and the incident was over at 0220.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
