Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued a woman from the ground floor of a converted terraced house following a fire on Prairie Street in Battersea on Friday morning.
The fire damaged part of a five roomed flat on the ground floor. Another woman inside the property left before the Brigade arrived. Both women were suffering from smoke inhalation.
The Brigade was called at 1154 and the fire was under control by 1227. Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Clapham, Brixton and Soho fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
