More than 80 firefighters were called to a fire on the site of a sewage treatment works on Belvedere Rd, Abbey Wood London this morning.
The fire affected a warehouse and two floors of offices on the site.
Station Manager Nick Harding who was at the scene said:
“Crews worked hard in difficult conditions to get the fire under control and managed to contain it to the maintenance and workshop area of the sewage works. Firefighters are likely to remain at the scene throughout the morning damping down remaining pockets of fire on the site."
Twelve fire engines from stations including Plumstead, Bexley, East Greenwich and Sidcup are at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 0523 and the fire was under control at 0955.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
