Twenty-one people safely evacuated from a fire at recycling centre on Cringle Street in Battersea, yesterday afternoon.
The group left before the arrival of the Brigade and were uninjured.
Part of a refuse transfer pit which contained about two tonnes of household rubbish was damaged by fire.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers from Peckham, Soho and Lambeth fire stations attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 1319 and the fire was under control at 1447. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
