Firefighters were called to reports of a car that had overturned at Marsh Wall, near the junction with Manchester Road E14, this morning.
Two occupants of the vehicle, a man and a woman, were sadly pronounced dead at the scene and a third occupant, a man, was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.
The Brigade assisted the police in making the scene safe.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
The Brigade was called at 0533 and the incident was over at 0615. Two fire engines and a fire rescue unit attended the scene from Millwall, Poplar and Bethnal Green fire stations.
