Firefighters tackled a fire in a car park under a block of flats on Harrowby Street in Marylebone, this evening.
The fire affected a small area of a basement car park and fortunately there were no injuries.
The fire is believed to have been cause by the careless disposal of a cigarette.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: It’s absolutely vital you ensure your cigarette is completely out when you’ve finished smoking it. If you don’t, you risk causing a fire that could destroy not only your home, but also your life.”
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers from Paddington, Euston and Soho fire station attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 2027 and the fire was under control at 2250. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
