Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers dealt with a flat blaze on Dolphin Square in Pimlico last night.
The fire severely damaged a flat on the fourth floor. Around 150 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. One woman was treated by London Ambulance Service crews at the scene.
London Fire Brigade spokesperson said:
“The fire is believed to caused by a curtain that was draped over a bedside lamp. Thankfully there was no one inside the property at the time of the fire. Bedside lamps can get incredibly hot and you should make sure that they are kept away from curtains and furniture.”
The Brigade was called at 2041 and the fire was under control by 2234. Firefighters from Lambeth, Dowgate, Kensington, Soho and Battersea fire stations were at the scene.
