Fire crews from East Greenwich rescued an elderly man from a flat fire on Corelli Road in Kidbrooke this afternoon.
Two fire engines and around 10 firefighter and officers were called to the fire in a block of flats.
The fire damaged a small part of the kitchen of the flat on the first floor. The man was suffering from smoke inhalation and was treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 1205 and the fire was under control by 1228.
