Firefighters were called to a boat sinking on Government Row in Enfield yesterday evening.
A 17 tonnes narrow boat was taking on water and in danger of sinking. Fire crews removed approximately 200 hundred litres of water using a lightweight portable pump securing the boat, which was then left in the hands of the owner.
Three fire engines and 14 firefighters and officers attended the scene, along with two fire rescue units with water capabilities.
The Brigade was called at 1925 and the incident was over at 2039. Crews from Enfield, Edmonton and Bethnal Green fire stations attended the scene.
