Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a scrap yard fire on Benskins Lane in Romford yesterday afternoon.
The blaze damaged some of the wrecked vehicles in the yard, completely destroying a van and a car. Thankfully there were no report of injuries.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
The Brigade was called at 1755 and the fire was under control by 1838. Fire crews from Harold Hill and Romford fire stations, along with two fire engines from Essex attended the scene.
