Four fire engines and 21 firefighters dealt with a fire on Downham Way in Bromley on Thursday 3rd March.
Firefighters rescued a man via an internal staircase. He was suffering from smoke inhalation and treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews. Sadly he later died in hospital.
Part of a the first floor flat was damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 1058 and the fire was under control by 1136. Crews from Bromley, Eltham and Sidcup fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
