Ten fire engines and 72 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a commercial waste disposal unit on Advent Way in Edmonton on Saturday night.
The unit was partly damaged by the blaze and around 500 tonnes of domestic waste inside it was destroyed.
The Brigade was called at 2154 and the fire was under control by 0419. Fire crews from Edmonton, Chingford, Walthamstow, Tottenham, Woodford, Enfield, Stoke Newington and Hornsey fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
