Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers dealt with a flat fire on Bell Drive in Putney this afternoon.
The ground floor flat was badly damaged by the blaze. A man left the property before the Brigade arrived. He was suffering from smoke inhalation and treated by London Ambulance Service crews.
Fire crews from Fulham, Battersea, Wandsworth and Tooting fire stations were at the scene. The Brigade was called at 1628 and the fire was under control by 1726. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
