A woman has died in hospital following a fire at a flat on Penywern Road in Earls Court on Sunday.
The woman was led to safety by firefighters from the rear of the house that had been converted into flats. She was treated for smoke inhalation and taken to hospital were she later died.
Two women left before the Brigade arrived and were also treated for smoke inhalation. A further 30 residents also evacuated the building before crews were on the scene.
Fire Investigators believe that the fire was caused an electrical heater being placed too close something flammable like bedding, newspapers or furniture.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers from Chelsea, Fulham, Soho and Hammersmith fire stations attended the scene.
The Brigade was called at 0901 and the fire was under control by 1028.
