Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a house fire on Orchid Close in Chessington this afternoon.
The first floor of the terraced property was gutted in the blaze and the roof space was also damaged. A woman left the house before firefighters arrived and she was treated on the scene by London Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation.
The Brigade was called at 1633 and the fire was under control by 1806. Two fire engines and 10 firefighters from Kingston and New Malden fire stations attended the incident alongside colleagues from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
