Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire in a nursery school on Oaks Lane in Newbury Park, Ilford this afternoon.
The nursery’s kitchen and roof were damaged by the blaze. Thirteen adults and 38 children left the building before the Brigade arrived but thankfully there were no injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1314 and the fire was under control by 1426. Fire crews from Ilford, Hainault and Dagenham fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
