Three adults and four children were rescued by firefighters after a fire in flat in Beehive Lane, Ilford.
Part of the kitchen of the property was damaged by fire.
Firefighters rescued three adults and four children from the rear of the property via an external staircase. One man was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews suffering from smoke inhalation.
The Brigade was called at 1743 and the fire under control at 1807. Fire crews from Ilford and Barking fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation
