A man was rescued by firefighters after a fire at a block of flats in Annadale Road, Greenwich.
Part of a flat on the ground floor of the building was damaged by fire.
One man was rescued from a ground floor flat by crews wearing breathing apparatus and was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service.
The Brigade was called at 0014 and the fire was under control at 0053. Two fire engines from East Greenwich Fire Station attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
