Three adults and a child were led to safety by firefighters after a fire at a block of flats in Redden Court Road, Romford this morning.
A flat on the first floor of the building was damaged in the blaze.
Firefighters assisted two women, one man and a child to safety from a third floor flat. Another 14 people left the block of flats before the arrival of the Brigade.
The Brigade was called at 1033 and the fire was under control at 1114. A fire engine from Harold Hill, Hornchurch and Romford fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
