Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers were called to a flat fire on Medlar Street in Camberwell on Saturday afternoon.
The fire damaged part of a flat on the third floor and the balcony of a flat on the second floor. A woman left the property before the Brigade was arrived and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service suffering from smoke inhalation.
The Brigade was called at 1618 and the fire was under control by 1737. Crews from Peckham, Lambeth, Brixton and Old Kent Road fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
