Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters and officers were called to a fire in a basement well in St Michael’s Street in Paddington.
Part of the external basement well was damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 1013 and the fire was under control at 1109. Fire crews from Paddington, Kensington and Soho fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is believed to be due to the unsafe disposal of smoking materials into the basement well.
