Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a terraced house in Inverness Terrace in Bayswater on Friday.
Part of a fourth floor studio flat was damaged by fire. Smoke alarms sounded in the building and approximately 20 people evacuated the building before the arrival of the Brigade. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 2109 and the fire was under control at 2159. Fire crews from Paddington, Kensington and North Kensington attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental and due to an electric hob being turned on and igniting items stored on top of it.
