Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a house fire on Marlow Road in East Ham last night.
The whole of the ground, first and loft conversation was gutted by fire. Two adults and five children left the property before the Brigade arrived. An adult woman and a male child were suffering from smoke inhalation and were treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 2009 and the fire was under control by 2113. Fire crews from Barking, Poplar and Ilford were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
