Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a block of flats on Woodberry Down Estate in Hackney.
Part of a service void in the lower ground level was damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 1805 and the fire was under control at 1912. Fire crews from Stoke Newington, Holloway and Tottenham fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police Service.
