Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a house in Widecombe Gardens in Ilford.
Part of the first floor of the house was damaged by fire.
Two adults and two children left the property before the arrival of the Brigade. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1810 and the fire was under control at 1915. Fire crews from Ilford, Woodford and East Ham fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
