Three fire engines and around 14 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a block of flats on Poplar Place in Thamesmead yesterday evening.
Half of the one bedroom flat on the second floor was damaged by the blaze. One woman escaped from the property before the arrival of the Brigade.
The Brigade was called at 1718 and the fire was under control by 1815. Firefighters from Plumstead, Erith and Bexley fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
