Six fire engines and 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a detached derelict house of two floors on Nicoll Road in Willesden.

The whole of the house was destroyed by the blaze.

Station Manager Mike Cotton, who was at the scene said: “When the first crews arrived the whole of the ground floor of the property was alight. Part of the roof collapsed and the building was structurally unsound. Firefighters worked hard and prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring homes.”

The Brigade was called at 0632 and the fire was under control at 0945. Fire crews from Park Royal, Willesden, North Kensington, Acton and Wembley fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
