Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a restaurant on Windmill Hill in Ruislip.
The fire badly damaged the building’s extraction system and part of the ground floor. There was heavy smoke throughout the restaurant.
Ten members of staff left the restaurant before the Brigade arrived. Firefighters prevented fire and smoke from travelling to the flats above.
The fire is believed to have started in or around the charcoal fuelled tandoori oven.
The Brigade was called at 1742 and the fire was under control by 1920. Fire crews from Ruislip, Harrow and Northolt fire stations were at the scene.
