Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire in the bin room of a block of flats on Inverness Street in Camden.
The bin room was destroyed by the fire. One woman and one child left the building before the Brigade arrived and were assessed on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 0350 and the fire was under control by 0509. Fire crews from Kentish Town, Soho and Euston fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
