Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus helped a man and woman to escape after a fire broke out in a flat at the World’s End Estate in Chelsea, SW10, this morning. Firefighters helped two other people to escape from a nearby flat and three other people escaped from another flat before firefighters arrived on the scene. Four people were assessed on the scene by ambulance crews.
Part of a ground floor flat was damaged by fire.
Five fire engines and 31 firefighters and officers from Chelsea, Fulham, Battersea, Kensington and Clapham fire stations attended the incident.
Fire investigators believe the fire started accidentally.
The Brigade was called at 0641 and the fire was under control by 0754.
